SUMMARY

This report on the IT security industry reveals that security analytics is the most-wanted security management and operations technology for 2019 according to professionals surveyed for the study.

This in-depth study also notes that IT security organizations had difficulties with application security development and testing more than any other security process. Besides, application containers are the weakest point of IT security organizations.

A good share of IT security companies surveyed has made investments in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to defend against advanced cyber threats. And the majority of them are already seeing the benefits of it.

Another of the study's findings is that companies attacked by ransomware have increased, while the percentage of companies paying ransoms also went up, and the percentage of firms that lost data because they didn't pay ransoms increased as well.

The report also explained that web application firewall (WAF) seems to be leading as the most widely deployed app/data security technology.
