SUMMARY

This brief report on cloud security in the U.S. healthcare sector reveals that the average percent of workloads deployed in the cloud is increasing quickly among respondents as it has nearly gone up twice as much in last year.

Data from this report show that mission-critical workloads represent more than half of cloud deployments nowadays on average. Two-thirds of respondents said that they were continuing their investments in new mission-critical cloud applications, therefore growth is likely to continue in the near future.

The large majority of experts surveyed explain that cybersecurity concerns are limiting the use of cloud services in the healthcare sector in the U.S. However, less than 10% have reported known security incidents in relation to cloud.

Key cloud security concerns are data theft, compliance, and identity access management. At the same time, fewer than half of the respondents are taking the necessary measures to do something to address these concerns.

Finally, the majority of experts have confidence in public cloud solutions to keep data secure. However, just a small share is happy storing most healthcare data in the public cloud.
