According to the study, actions taken by consumer good companies in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak include the revision and adaptation of production plans. Companies must design contingency plans to secure continuity of supply and establish the business' supply chain’s weakest links from the resilient viewpoint. Turbocharging logistics flexibility is also key, which means that among other aspects companies have to join forces their logistics providers, or even their competitors, to leverage joint capacity. Businesses could also try to use different logistics providers for different warehouses and distribution centers, the report suggests. It is paramount to remain close to customers while adjusting to demand and making necessary changes to the commercial and marketing strategy.
