SUMMARY

This report finds HP dominating the digital industrial printing sector, while SLA-powered printers drive the desktop printing environment.

Digital manufacturing is computer-integrated manufacturing. Digital models are used to make products quickly, efficiently, and cheaply.

What are the highest-rated industrial printers? Sitting at #1 is the Formiga P100 with a perfect 5.00 rating. At #2, the number one contender is HP’s Multi Jet Fusion with a 4.95 rating. Objet30 Prime is last on the podium in #3 with a 4.94 rating.

What are the most used industrial printers? At #1, HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D 4200 made 6,551 prints, almost three times more than #2 place Formiga P 110, which produced 2,244 prints. In a surprising jump, the UnionTech Lite 600 moves from #10 (Q2) to #3 with 1,665 prints made. For the first time, an FDM industrial printer, the Dimension 1200es at #6, has cracked the Most Used Industrial Printers. While there has been a drop in industrial FDM machines and the desktop alternatives improve, this information suggests there is still room for FDM in industrial manufacturing.

What are the highest-rated desktop printers? The highest-rated desktop 3D printer is the Zortrax M200, receiving 317 reviews and a 4.87 rating. The MK2 and Taz 5 both finished #2 with a score of 4.86. The Creality CR-10 showed a large jump in its ratings from #10 to #4. Additive manufacturing supplier Prusa Research has all their machines in the Top 10.

What are the most used desktop printers? For another quarter, the Form 2 and MK2 sit atop the Most Used Desktop Printers. In #1 the Form 2 is the only SLA machine in the top 10. This position may stabilize as new Ceramic and Wax resins are being released. In the #3 spot is the Creator Pro with 10,399 prints.
