SUMMARY

This report aims at offering clarity to organizations about today's market trends in cloud computing which are driving business change and innovation. It also aims at offering insights to have in mind when planning for the future.

Cloud computing is becoming an essential part of nowaday's organizations. However as businesses' cloud presence increases it’s also getting more difficult to manage, this report notes.

Organizations that understand the best cloud uses and make the most from them will have a significant advantage over those that don’t. The differences will only become more obvious over time, as the report indicates. Multi-cloud is a reality, and businesses are obliged to take a comprehensive approach across operating models to handle risk and boost success. According to one study mentioned in this research, 70% of companies expect to be operating a multi-cloud environment by 2019.

Cloud usage has increased significantly over the past few years as firms are migrating a growing number of their workloads to the cloud. The study notes that over 90% percent of organizations have moved at least some of their processes to the cloud. This trend will only continue to grow only though, there are still companies that remain in a risky position as they refuse to embrace the cloud at scale.

Between the public cloud and on-premise lies a grey zone: the private cloud. This can indeed deliver significant business benefits, the report shows. But only if businesses understand beforehand what private cloud can and can’t do and the role it’s best designed to have as part of the company's cloud and computing strategy.
