This report on mobile reveals that the global gaming industry will create revenues of $152.1 billion, a 9.6% increase year-on-year increase. 

The research gives a snapshot of how the revenues generated by gaming are split per region and segment, and how they will evolve in the following years.

Mobile gaming is still the most important segment in 2019. It generated revenues of $68.5 billion, which amounts to 45% of the global games market. 80% of mobile gaming revenues will be generated from mobile games, while tablet gaming accounts for $13.6 billion.

Mobile game revenues will continue growing and will surpass growth on PC game revenues over the next few years.

Revenues generated by mobile will outpace the console’s revenue growth as well, while the console’s market share will not see many changes.

Browser game revenues on PC are expected to experience a decrease because gamers are changing to mobile games. Revenues in 2019 will go down by -15.1% year on year, the paper indicates.

Regarding the console market, the installed base for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is at its highest. The Nintendo Switch can still be described as successful. These elements, along with the continued change toward the games-as-a-service business model, is expected to boost 2019’s revenues generated by console games to $47.9 billion - a 13.4% increase year on year.

The Asia-Pacific region is expected to create $72.2 billion in 2019, a 7.6% rise year on year - 47% of total global game revenues.
