SUMMARY

This report on cloud adoption and security revealed that 50% of VSBs and 65% of SMBs examined for this paper have adopted a cloud platform and that Google Cloud Platform is the most popular cloud provider.

According to the study, around three-quarters of SMBs and 56% of VSBs use at least one SaaS-hosted business application. Email, document sharing platforms, and collaboration software are the top three SaaS applications for VSBs and SMBs.

Companies also tend to cloud adoption on a bigger scale as they gain maturity. Meanwhile, the research also notes that data protection is considered the main challenge that organizations face. However, IT security management is not usually considered a priority for businesses but an afterthought.

The companies surveyed for this study indicated that cost and risk reduction are among the most important drivers for companies with plans to use MSPs/MSSPs for their IT security.

Companies in growth phase tend to suffer for attacks than smaller businesses, the document also revealed. SMBs experienced a larger number of attacks than VSBs over the past year about any cloud platform.
