This Internet advertising revenue report by PwC explains that Internet advertising revenues in the US surpassed $100 billion for the full year of 2018 for the first time. Revenues in 2018 increased by over 20% compared to 2017.

According to this study, advertising revenues delivered on mobile devices were worth over $69 billion in 2018, which is nearly 40% more compared to 2017.

Regarding advertising revenues from digital video were valued at $16 billion – 37% more compared to 2017. Digital video venues, the paper adds, represent more than 15% of total revenues.

The document highlights the prominent role of brand storytelling led by social media which is offering advertisers new ways to engage with their audience. This means that the growth from social media is still the main driver of growth.

Programmatic ad revenues, the paper indicates, represent 80% of the total digital display advertising revenues. The advantages of programmatic advertising are related to the efficiency in acquiring and selling of ads, as well as cost reductions, the document indicates.
