The Biggest Global eCommerce Growth Market

SUMMARY

This report aims at making international and regional businesses aware of the high potential of the MENASA eCommerce opportunity. According to estimations, the region's eCommerce sales in 2017 were valued at $51 billion.

This only represents 3% of global online shopping sales. However, online commerce in the MENASA region is increasing significantly, in fact, sales there are growing faster than in any other market. MENASA's eCommerce growth is going up while the eCommerce growth rate globally is declining, the paper explains.

The research talks about the main key E-Commerce growth drivers including a significant latent demand; high mobile adoption and many young consumers; high social media usage; high entrepreneurship; and more support from governments.

According to this study, around 16% of MENASA internet users - 115 million people - were online shoppers, compared to 40% of global internet users who are online shoppers. This represents an important difference even though the region shows high mobile usage - higher than many other markets.

The study takes a look at the barriers to a limited E-Commerce penetration compared to other parts of the world. These challenges include limited payment options, E-Commerce logistics issues; taxation and lack of consumer awareness, among others.

It also includes a listing of Top100 B2C eCommerce Companies of the MENASA region, concentrated on B2C eCommerce companies.
