SUMMARY

This study on security reveals that Q2 2019 has been the fourth consecutive quarter of global InsurTech investment that went beyond the US$1.2 billion mark.

The funding in Q2 has come from a series of later-stage investments, four of which amount an excess of US$100 million.

This report reviews different technologies and InsurTech companies that have an influence on the process of Quote, Bind, Issue. The InsurTech firms examined in this paper are UK- based Simply Business, U.S.-based Bindable, Germany-based massUp, and UK-based Confused.com. These businesses are offering their approach, backed by adequate technology to all of, or part of, the Quote, Bind, Issue process.

This document features an interview with John Chambers, director of Innovation and Corporate Development of AEGIS London and is the pioneer of Opal – AEGIS London’s Quote, Bind, Issue tool.

There is also a section about Willis Towers Watson’s software, Brovada. This product helps to improve workflow efficiency by linking insurance and agent systems, the research says.

Besides, BenNicholls, leader of Willis Re’s Alternative Distribution Operations writes a piece about the use of Quote, Bind, Issue technology into Lloyd’s market and similar global insurance markets through binding authorities.

The recent rise of PolicyBazaar is also reviewed in this study. The Indian aggregator site reached unicorn status with a US$152 million Series F round, the document indicates.

The study concludes with an evaluation of InsurTech market trends and transactions in the InsurTech Data Center.
