The latest trends from our Q2 2019 survey of 17,000+ developers

SUMMARY

This report about AI and other emerging technologies reveals that JavaScript is the preferred programming language chosen by developers.

According to this paper, developers seem to drop and adopt new languages constantly. This adoption of new programming languages depends on their needs and their projects.

The study indicates that developers are growingly interested in and adopting DevOps and Mini-apps. On the other hand, there is an increasing interest by developers in cryptocurrency and computer vision.

The document highlights that for four technologies interest and adoption have not changed much over time. These technologies are blockchain applications, conversational platforms/voice search, drones, and biometrics.

More than one-quarter of mobile developers used cross-platform frameworks over the last year, the research found. And nearly one in four mobile developers decides to use React Native.

Regarding the average profile of a developer, the study revealed that over 50% consider themselves as logical. Besides, over one in three developers define themselves as introverts, and only 10% label themselves as an extrovert.
