This report reveals that Kenya is expected to reach the 1 billion gigabytes mark by 2022. Mobile subscriptions represent most of the internet connections in Kenya, the document adds.

According to this study, Kenyan people use their internet connectivity and mobile data to look for news, information, entertainment and other services. 

The paper indicates that Google is Kenya’s most-visited website and most-frequently-used search engine. Regarding the sports market, sports betting firm SportPesa was the most word most searched on Google by users in Kenya between 2016 and 2018.

As for social media, Facebook is the second-most-visited website in the country, the paper notes, and the most important social media channel with over 8.5 million users.

The document reveals that Kenya has two adult websites in its top 10 most-visited sites. This is a higher percentage than in any other East and Central African country.

Users in Kenya are showing an increasing interest in content spanning news, entertainment and video, and the vertical photo/video format “Stories” is also becoming more popular.
