This report reveals that some e-commerce operators have started launching their private labels in the last few years in China to offer good-quality products at lower price points. A few examples of this E-Commerce trend are NetEase Yanxuan, Taobao Xinxuan, Jingzao and Youpin by Xiaomi.

The document shows that e-commerce operators’ private labels are very popular among the younger generations. Online buyers aged between 30 and 39 are among the most significant consumer group of the new private labels, followed by people aged between 20 and 29.

This study mentions that e-commerce operators have started launching physical shops to sell their products and establish deeper connections with consumers and create brand loyalty as well.

At the same time, some online shopping operators are starting to differentiate themselves by expanding their business into new categories including bags, home electronics, and cosmetics. An example of this trend is NetEase Yanxuan and Taobao Xinxuan which have entered new markets after mainly being involved in the production of home products and home textile which are more standardized and easier to manufacture. 

The research adds that a few e-commerce players have also established collaborations with overseas manufacturers to create and offer singular products for their consumer-base.
